Sambar Podi

I always find using Sambar Podi to be very convenient. I asked my grandmother who is great cook for this recipe. I use this for making side dishes for rotis also. Here goes the recipe:


Red Chillies - 250 grams (grind to fine powder)

Group 1

Coriander Seeds - 250 grams
Black Peppercorns - 2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder - 3 tbsp
Bengal Gram Dhal - 1/4 cup
Red Gram Dhal - 3/4 cup


Grind Group 1 ingredients to a fine powder. (Sieve it once or twice to get a fine powder). Mix red chilly powder to Group 1.

Sambar Powder is ready!!!

Looks perfect, so you don't roast the ingredients at all....very interesting...there are so many new ways to make this...
